Jebel Harim-From Dibba to Khasab

On 18 May 2012, Friday, my family-my dad, mom and my sister, along with another family of four-a couple and their two daughters, started our journey at around 11.00am in our 4X4 rides, ours a Jeep Grand Cherokee 1998 and theirs a Toyota Prado, to the mountainous road through the Jebel Harim from Dibba to Khasab. The terrain was purely meant for a 4X4 with steel slopes and hair-pin curves and a rocky terrain which would be perhaps not possible with a non 4X4. On the way we passed by what appeared to be once a settlement with goat sheds, small stone houses and graveyards. The journey was beautiful one with splendid views of the canyons below and the beautiful wind cut mountains except for the stuffy humid weather at lower heights. We enjoyed taking snaps along the way and also exploring the sites were we stopped for a break. We climbed to around 1200m above the sea level where we camped at we thought used to be a site of settlement. The next day we packed up before it became hot and followed the same way down the mountain. On the way back we thought to check out the Zighy bay Hotel and beach maintained by Six Senses Group of Hotels. The beach was beautiful with a great scenery from the top of the mountain but a stuffy humid weather. After enjoying the some time there we traced the same way back down and back to the highway.
